My blog began with a post about the past, so i guess i'll use this post to fill in everything that happened between the end of my UCI orientation to now. I've been taking it real easy recently since im pretty sure this is going to be my last full, free summer for a few years (plan on going to summer school).
After SPOP i decided to finally sign up for my behind the wheel drivers test. I had to borrow my Godmother's car since my parents 93 Ford Topaz is a hunk of junk, and my brothers eclipse is stick. Neways i managed to get the earliest time available (9:00am) and was lucky enough to pass. I missed a total of 8, which isn't bad especially since it was the first time i had driven in 2 weeks. The funny thing is, I haven't gone driving with my new license as of yet.
About a week after i got my license, i was able to registar for my classes. I ended up taking 4 classes. A math class, writing class, CSE class, and a nanotechnology freshman seminar. Not really sure why i signed up for a freshman seminar, but its only a hour a week and i've heard its a good experience for freshman. About a day after i registered, i got my financial aid, and my fees were paid automatically. There goes $2300 for my first quarter of school. I also managed to reserve almost all the books i'm going to need and it ended up being about $300. To my suprise, i got an IM from Bing a few days ago. We talked a bit, and i wished him luck during college (which i think he started already).
The past weekend my Aunts from San Jose stopped by for a visit. Technically they're not really my Aunts (actually my mom's cousins), but i consider them to be anyways. To my suprise, one of my cousins, Mae Ann, decided to come along. She's a couple of years older than me and goes to San Francisco State. I'm not really close with my cousins cause i rarely see them, but it was really good talking to someone from the next generation of my family. Especially seeing how mostly everybody I know has a bunch of cousins here and are all really close. It looks like my Aunt is thinking about buying a house here since its pretty cheap and she'll be working in the LA area.
Today i got a call from Sara (Scholarship Coordinator) about a scholarship i had. I decided to use the scholarship on a laptop, but it was hard trying to find one under $1000. I ended up finding a refurbished compaq presario that i thought was a really good bargin. I'll post more info about it when i get it about next week. While typing this, i got an email from Josh, the head Prado staffer at SPOP. Looks like they're having a SPOP reunion at Newport Beach tomorrow. I'd like to go, but i doubt i'll be able to.
Well i guess thats pretty much it. Hopefully, when school starts, i'll have more things to write about and update my blog everyday instead of once a week.
