Today at 6:30am i said goodbye to Delano and i can say that it was bitter-sweet. I'm glad to finally leave the small town of Delano and move to bigger and better things, but i'm also gonna miss my home for the last 18 years, my family and friends, and Delano itself. The drive to Irvine with my brother took about 3 hours because of light traffic.
We got to Irvine at about 9:30am. The residence halls didn't open till 10:00am, so I helped my brother setup the desktop i gave him in his apartment. At a little past 10, we headed over to the resident halls. My residence hall, Lluvia, is really close to the parking lot so moving in was pretty easy. My roomate wasn't in the room when i came in, but i soon figured out that his move in day is tomorrow. After i finished unpacking, i headed over to the bookstore to buy an ethernet cable. Afterwards, i just started walking around the residence halls to find a few of the other buildings. At about 5:45pm we gathered in the upstairs living room to goto dinner. Of the 33 people who moved in today, only about 10 showed up. I'm guessing they went to dinner with their families. After dinner we headed back to the dorm, and sat around in the living room and talked for awhile. At about 8:00pm we headed over to the Mesa lawn to watch "The Goonies" with the rest of the Mesa Court residents. Although i haven't seen it for a while, "The Goonies" is still a pretty good movie. It was getting really cold after the movie, so we rushed back to the dorms.
